Subject The article deals with the issues of interregional economic cooperation of the Chelyabinsk oblast within the 2010–2015 time-frame. Methods For the study, we used the methods of generalization, induction, analogy, analysis and synthesis, statistical analysis, the systems and structural-functional approaches, and some other ones. Results The article shows the regions with high and low indices of economic interaction with the Chelyabinsk oblast, and denotes possible problems and prospects of its development. Conclusions The necessary conditions for sustainable economic development of the oblast are the extension of the structure of interregional export and intraregional consumption, and the reduction of imports dependence, which can be ensured by the development of interregional economic cooperation.
