Subject. This article examines the process of virtualization and its impact on the development of monetary relations.
Objectives. The article aims to identify the peculiarities of the process of virtualization of the economy, determine its impact on money circulation, as well as describe the nature of the relationship between the virtualization process and the emergence and functioning of digital money.
Methods. For the study, I used retrospective and comparative analyses, as well as economic, statistical and graphical methods of interpreting the facts.
Results. The article finds that virtualization is one of the features of the development of the post-industrial economy, it affects all spheres of social existence and has a significant impact on monetary relations.
Relevance. The results of the study can be used by representatives of public authorities when developing measures of legislative regulation of the digital money market and scenarios for its further development.
