For a modern banking system two fundamental features are characteristic: first, this system – regulated (and along with self-regulation the centralized regulation takes place from the central bank), and secondly is market (the end result of activity of credit institutes realization of bank services in the market in the conditions of the amplifying competition). The central bank in any country has a special place in the credit and financial system. The value of the central bank is that it is responsibility for carrying out monetary policy and stability of a banking system as a whole.
