The article states that the statutory requirements of the Bank of Russia are the keystones for building the system of credit risk management of banks. The objective of credit risk management is to limit credit risk rather than to implement a customer-oriented approach as a strategy of business development and a basis of investment lending. The author has analyzed the regulatory base of credit risk management of banks and concluded on the need for its improvement in view of innovation priorities of economic growth. The article also presents the author's relevant recommendations.
