Importance Investing activities shape the future development of economy since the scope of the activities, investment areas and investment efficiency improve the structure of public production and growth rates of the national economy. It is important for Russia to determine a new vector of economic development pursuing effective investing activities.
Objectives The research represents a comprehensive evaluation of investing activities in the Russian Federation and outlines recommendations for increasing its efficiency.
Methods The article calculates the integral indicator of combined terms and results of investing activities in the Russian Federation, considering the specifics of investing activities in Russia and the Russian regions. Using the regression analysis, we find the most significant factors, which positively influence the integral indicator, when they change.
Results We comprehensively evaluated investing activities of the Russian Federation and its constituent entities and pointed out homogenous groups of the constituent entities in terms of investing activities. We made up regression models to assess how the factors influenced the homogeneous groups. The article highlights priority directions for developing investing activities of the homogeneous regions so to improve their efficiency.
Conclusions and Relevance The findings may be useful for public authorities when setting up economic development institutions, which draw the further trajectory for the national economy. Certain findings may be used to devise programs and strategies of the regions’ economic development for making their territories more attractive for investment.
