Subject. This article discusses the issues of environmental safety and strengthening Russia's economic position in Asia.
Objectives. The article aims to identify promising areas of cooperation between Russia and China in the energy sector.
Methods. For the study, we used the methods of statistical analysis, induction and deduction.
Results. Based on the analysis of the problems of the Chinese energy industry in the current conditions, as well as plans for the medium and long-term development of the fuel and energy complex of China, the article finds that at present, the gas industry determines the nature of cooperation between Russia and China in the energy sector to the greatest extent.
Conclusions. In the coming decades, renewable energy sources will become one of the main factors in the development of the economy.
