Integration of the ESG management system into the corporate culture of the enterprise as a condition for the sustainable development of a modern energy company
Subject. The study addresses the environmental management system formation in Russia. Objectives. The purpose is to analyze approaches to determining the sustainability of the energy sector. Methods. We employ economic and statistical methods of research. Results. The paper established that the environmental responsibility of generating companies directly depends on the technological features of energy resource production. The largest carbon footprint is left in the atmosphere by thermal power plants. Increasing the installed capacity and commissioning of new nuclear power plants in Russia will contribute to decarbonization of the entire electric power industry. Conclusions. The stability of Russian energy companies must be maintained regardless of macroeconomic risks.
