Socio-economic development of the North Caucasus macroregion in the context of district and regional policies, programmes and priorities: The status and trends
Importance The article deals with the issues of socio-economic development of the North Caucasus large region. Objectives The article aims to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the existing policies and programmes of socio-economic development of the North Caucasian Federal District, determine the development priorities, and work out recommendations for further advancement and positive change of the situation. Methods For the study, we used the methods of statistical analysis, calculation, monographic survey, and logical modeling. Results The paper presents a kind of inventory of the national economy and society actors of the North Caucasian Federal District and the District as a whole, stressing the impetus of its integrated development. Conclusions In the financial sector, the development of the stock market, public private partnerships, project finance, business venture, and introduction of Islamic banking should be considered as priorities.
