Subject. This article explores the condition of the food market of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
Objectives. The article aims to develop proposals and recommendations to improve the food security of the Republic.
Methods. For the study, we used analysis and synthesis, comparison, and observation.
Results. The article identifies the specific features of the food market of Yakutia, due to the economic and geographical situation. It offers some recommendations for food security in the Republic.
Conclusions. To improve the food security of the Republic, it is necessary to strengthen the economic role of the ulus (district) food markets in the formation of their own financial and economic resources and reduce the operational costs that increase the volume of product losses.
