Subject. This article discusses the prospects of agricultural production in Russia.
Objectives. The article aims to assess the development of entrepreneurial and economic activity in the agricultural sector of the depressed areas of the Far East of Russia, as well as identify possible measures to solve urgent economic problems.
Methods. For the study, we used the methods of comparative analysis and classification.
Results. The article finds that depressed agrarian areas are gradually adapting to the changed economic conditions through the development of entrepreneurial and economic activities of the rural population and the expansion of agricultural organizations from other areas of the region.
Conclusions. It is necessary to intensify government incentives for small business in the agro-industrial complex in order to increase agricultural production. This will help meet the consumer demand of the population of the Far East of Russia.
