Subject. This article discusses the role of dairy cattle breeding in raising the level of agricultural development of the Udmurt Republic.
Objectives. The article aims to systematize the processes of transformation of the dairy cattle breeding economy at the municipal and regional levels.
Methods. For the study, we used the methods of economic analysis.
Results. The article finds that dairy cattle breeding is one of the fast developing sectors of the economy in some regions of the Udmurt Republic, but there is a slowdown in the development of the industry in most regions of the Republic. The article reveals the main reasons for this decline.
Conclusions. The bulk of State funding to support agriculture should be allocated to develop production infrastructure and projects implemented on the principles of public-private partnership.
