Subject. This article discusses the gaps in the introduction of digital technologies in the Russian economy.
Objectives. The article aims to develop a methodology for assessing the digital transformation of the economy, taking into account the digital divide of Russian regions.
Methods. For the study, we used a comparative analysis.
Results. Considering the Samara Oblast as a case study, the article presents the author-developed methodology for assessing the digital transformation of the economy and determines the stages of digital transformation of the economy.
Conclusions. Approaches to assessing digital transformation can take into account both direct indicators characterizing the direct introduction of digital technologies into the economy, and indirect ones characterizing the impact of digital technologies on the economy and social sphere.
