Subject. This article discusses the issues of improvement of the competitiveness of Russian companies and development of innovative products. Objectives. The article aims to form an optimal set of indicators that can help assess the economic effect of the implementation of an innovation project. Methods. For the study, we used systems and comparative analyses. Results. The article presents the author-developed comprehensive methodology for evaluating an innovation project, taking into account financial, socio-cultural and environmental aspects. Conclusions. When analyzing an innovation project, it is necessary to take into account the specifics of the external environment, since the development of technological solutions is a long-term process.
