Subject. This article discusses the issues of strategic planning and development of the service sector in the regions of Russia.
Objectives. The article aims to analyze the factors that determine the specifics of the regional policy for the development of the service sector.
Methods. For the study, we used economic and mathematical research methods.
Results. The article finds that the strategies of socio-economic development of some regions of Russia are characterized by an incomplete representation of the interrelations between priorities, goals and objectives, as well as the lack of quantitative assessments of threats to various sectors of the economy. The article proposes an original system of equations that help taking into account the influence of various factors on the development of the service sector.
Relevance. The results of the study can be taken into account when forming and adjusting a regional socio-economic policy.
