Subject. The article is devoted to building a system of qualitative and effective assessment of labor resources to support the economic system of the State or region.
Objectives. The purpose is to assess labor resources in the production potential of the economic system.
Methods. The study employs general scientific research methods.
Results. For general assessment of labor resources in the production potential of the economic system, indicators reflecting the quantity, quality and efficiency of labor potential are integrated into a single evaluation algorithm based on the use of a point system. The paper presents the calculations of the integrated indicator for the Nizhny Novgorod Oblast.
Conclusions. By applying the point system to evaluate individual indicators characterizing one of the three areas of labor resources assessment, as well as the weighting values of indicators, I developed an algorithm for calculating one indicator. It can be used to determine the potential and efficiency of manpower utilization of the economic system, region, and country as a whole.
