The article is devoted to the analysis of the development approaches to the interpretation of economic entity as "real option", beginning with the first use of the term to the present. It is systematized the views of foreign and Russian scientists, is submitted a critical overview of the different interpretations, is made a conclusion about the existence of seven approaches to economic entities of the term real option.
