However, so far this issue has been considered from the perspective of present-day problem solution, without a focus on achieving strategic objectives. The study makes an assumption about the influence of innovative processes on energy performance improvement of the regional industrial complex.
Objectives The study aims to review innovative development processes and their impact on energy performance of regional industrial system, and to identify possible ways to improve the domestic management practice in the considered sphere at the regional level of management of economy.
Methods The study employs a statistical method of processing the economic information to analyze the relationship of indicators of energy efficiency and innovative development of industrial complexes of Russia.
Results The paper finds a correlation between the indicators of innovative activity and energy efficiency of regional industrial complexes; provides a rationale for the impact of processes of innovative development on energy efficiency enhancement of Russian regions.
Conclusions and Relevance Integration of processes of innovative development and energy efficiency can be seen as one of possible ways to increase energy performance of the regional industrial complex under innovative modernization of the Russian economy. The findings may serve as a basis for improving the domestic practice of management in this sphere.
