Subject The article addresses the process of consumption of various forms of energy and the status of analysis of their use in company activities.
Objectives The focus is on the need to study all forms of energy used in the production of goods and services, rather than only electricity consumption.
Methods The study employs abstraction, systems and hypothetical approaches, generalization and comparison, and the ‘all other things equal’ principle.
Results The paper substantiates the provision that the price of total energy and the volume of its consumption should be used in the analysis of financial and economic performance of the company. This will enable to find new reserves for economic growth through optimizing various types of energy costs. Such indicators as energy intensity, energy efficiency, financial capacity of energy consumption, etc. should be updated to reflect all forms of energy. These data will help obtain more accurate results of company performance and disclose untapped reserves of economic growth.
Conclusions If the findings are implemented, the company's activities will correspond to the current stage of development of the innovation and digital economy.
