Subject. The article discusses economic relationships that originate as part of bank lending to AIC. Objectives. The study focuses on lending to AIC and outlines recommendations to improve the mechanism. Methods. Research is based on general methods, such as statistical and comparative analyses, classification, problem analysis, ranking, systems approach. Results. As the analysis reveals, the agricultural sector extremely needs financial resources. We described key issues of lending to AIC and determined whether bank loans should be made affordable. If stimulated, investment lending to agricultural entities will positively influence the development of the industry and improve the existing economic situation for rural people. Conclusions and Relevance. Considering sanctions imposed on Russia, investment lending to AIC will totally unleash the potential of the agricultural sector. This will not only accelerate the import substitution initiative, but also contribute to higher exports of some products.
