The article points out that the experience of countries with developed market economies testifies that development of land and mortgage lending opens up broad opportunities for enterprise development of agrarian sector. The author emphasizes that the effectively organized mortgage lending system allows lenders to consider providing loans secured by farmland as one of the most reliable and safe ways to invest in agriculture. In Ukraine the system of mortgage crediting of enterprises of agrarian and industrial complexes is evolving, therefore experience of mortgage lending of foreign countries is of increasing importance.
