Subject. This article characterizes the Russian economy in the financial aspect.
Objectives. The article aims to describe the Russian economy from the financial perspective.
Methods. For the study, I used a systems approach based on a statistical analysis.
Results. The article reveals a decrease in long-term liabilities of the external debt of the Russian Federation and an increase in short-term ones, as well as the reason for this phenomenon. The article determines that the dynamics of exports of goods and services (received) and imports of goods and services (paid), primary and secondary incomes indicate an export-oriented model of economic development.
Relevance. The provisions of the study give the expert community a real idea of the financial characteristics of the Russian economy.
