Importance The article presents a brief dedicated analysis of threats and challenges to Russia's national security, and categories, concepts, methodologies, political-legal and scientific-educational framework for their repulsion. Objectives I provide the rationale for an urgent and dramatic adjustment of fundamental concepts and criteria and improvement of the organizational and technological aspects of governmental activities in this area. Methods The research employs the deductive-axiomatic method and cross-disciplinary tools to comprehensively study the national security through thinking and modeling by category, performance-based approach to sustaining and improving the process through operational research and decision theory. Results In the final part of the article, I interpret the meaning, target, focus, basic values and system of Russia's national security, indicating methods to adjust respective national interests by shifting their focus and including additional methods, introducing quantitative parameters and criteria to evaluate the overall organizational and technological activity for the national sustainability. The reliability of the findings are corroborated by the deductive-axiomatic method based on trustworthy assumptions. Conclusions and Relevance It is impossible for Russia to protect and preserve itself without urgent measures and modernization of the regulatory framework designated to unite the peoples of Russia and condemn those officials who prevent this instead of assisting.
