Importance Striving to the sustainable economic development, it is necessary to find methods for better performance of large industrial enterprises, including a systems approach to corporate management by objectives.
Objectives The research is to improve the management of large industrial enterprises and some aspects by applying the proposed set of indicators so as to evaluate the attainment of strategic goals.
Methods Based on general scientific methods of analysis and synthesis, we study principal concepts of management by objectives and propose a set of key performance indicators through the decomposition method.
Results We propose a set of key performance indicators of large industrial enterprises in the defense industry, which can be applied to evaluate the attainment of economic goals and digital capabilities of the company. The further research will focus on the method to evaluate digital capabilities of an industrial enterprise through the indicators proposed herein.
Conclusions and Relevance Based on the proposed set of indicators, we can evaluate the attainment of strategic goals of large industrial enterprises, thus assessing the efficiency of managerial decisions. The set of indicators can work not only for control, but also for building a uniform motivation mechanism for employees. The findings can prove useful for managers of large industrial enterprises, specialists in setting the uniform motivation mechanism and scientific community deal with the concept of management by objectives.
