Subject. This article discusses the theoretical basics and practice of the creation and application of economic mechanisms of various types. Objectives. The article aims to identify the reasons for the low efficiency of the use of economic mechanisms in practice. Methods. For the study, we used comparison, observation, deduction, and the dialectical method. Results. The article proposes a developed schematic model of the economic mechanism for ensuring sustainable development, based on the process of generating benefits, and a procedure for implementing the economic mechanism parameters for ensuring sustainable development in reality. Conclusions. The technological process is the main factor that determines the composition of the economic mechanism and the algorithm of interaction of its elements.
