Subject. The article investigates the financial situation of forest industry enterprises, problems of advanced training of specialists, and introduction of modern technologies.
Objectives. The aim is to assess the main parameters of labor resources of forestry enterprises in the Arkhangelsk Oblast.
Methods. The study applies various methods of economic and mathematical analysis.
Results. The paper established that the reduction in the number of employees in the forest complex is objective. It is caused by the introduction of modern technologies, structural changes in the organization of production. In the Arkhangelsk Oblast, there has been a five-year increase in the level of wages for the main types of economic activity within the forest complex.
Conclusions. The future of the forest complex of the Arkhangelsk Oblast depends on solving the problems associated with the growing shortage of highly qualified specialists.
