Subject. The article addresses problems of information protection, development of approaches to ensuring the security and sustainability of digital platforms. Objectives. The aims are to evaluate the used protocols for information protection, distributed Internet networks and nodes built using cryptography, to analyze individual security solutions in building a digital infrastructure that is resilient to external threats. Methods. The study rests on general scientific research methods. Results. We analyzed methods of cryptographic protection, determined that basic protection methods that are based on encryption and cryptography cannot provide complete protection of sites and services from unauthorized access. It is crucial to consider all kinds of risks and threats, analyze the characteristics of cyberattacks and technologies used by fraudsters in relation to a particular industry or company. Conclusions. It is important to have a comprehensive approach to building an information security system in the context of total digitalization, intellectualization of processes and communications in the online space.
