Specifics and principles of building a personnel motivation system at maritime transport enterprises

Subject. The article considers theoretical and practical problems of personnel management at marine transport enterprises.
Objectives. The aim is to develop a methodological approach to the formation of an effective system of labor motivation for the personnel of maritime transport enterprises.
Methods. We applied methods of statistical, system-retrospective, and content analysis.
Results. The study unveiled industry factors of employees labor activity motivation at survey companies of Novorossiysk, formulated principles of building a system of labor motivation for the personnel of maritime transport enterprises, including the ability to identify reserves (deficit) of production capacities, assessment of employees and clients interaction at the time of transport service delivery, providing the clients with transport services with the quality that exceeds their expectations.
Conclusions. An effective motivation system is an important factor in attracting highly qualified personnel to the maritime industry. The proposed approach enables to increase the employee performance in survey companies, taking into account industry requirements for personnel competencies and the degree of satisfaction with the labor incentive system.
