Of Achievements in the scientific and technical sphere and new innovative products, services and technologies: influence on development of a region's economy
The article specifies the basic problems of development of the Russian economy market reforms. It reasons the directions of the government influence on the successful implementation of this process. It shows one of the promising ways for the Russian regions to solve this problem, i.e. to develop complex engineering and increase the number of engineering companies. The author clarifies the definition of "engineering" and identifies its key functions in relation to the development of R&D and innovation. The author substantiates the importance of innovation policy development in a region to ensure the socio-economic welfare. A major part of the activities takes into account the current trends in the areas of R&D investment and economic development in the region.
