Subject This article examines the peculiarities of socio-economic development of the Republic of Dagestan, tendencies and problems of structural reforms of its economy taking into account contemporary challenges. Objectives The article aims to study the macroeconomic and sectoral structure of the economy of the Republic of Dagestan. Methods For the study, I used the methods of statistical and comparative analyses. Results Structural changes in the economy of the Republic of Dagestan are the result of the spontaneous adaptation of business entities to the crisis. The economy of Dagestan has a high share of services against the background of a deep recession in material production. There is a significant differentiation of socio-economic development of areas within the Republic. Conclusions Focused structural improvement of the national economy of Dagestan and its main branches is necessary to overcome the crisis and boost the Republic's economy.
