Subject This article discusses the issues of entrepreneurial motivation, its internal structure, stimulation and territorial transformation of motives of entrepreneurial activity in a particular region.
Objectives The article aims to analyze the underlying motives for entrepreneurship in various countries and see how the territorial transformation of entrepreneurial motivation corresponds to the level of economic development.
Methods The study is based on the analysis of entrepreneurial motivation in Turkey, Germany, Great Britain, New Zealand, and Russia.
Conclusions and Relevance The study shows that the external circumstances, which act as forcing incentives, compel the majority of Russian entrepreneurs to do business. The results of the study are of interest for further research in the field of motivational influence on entrepreneurs, as well as development of strategies and concepts of development and State support of entrepreneurship in Russia.
