Subject This article examines the issues of innovative entrepreneurship, the current state of which reflects the level of economic development of areas, regions, and the State as a whole.
Objectives The article aims to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the modern state of innovative entrepreneurship in Russia.
Methods For the study, we used the methods of quantitative and qualitative analyses of international ratings of innovative development, statistics of the Federal State Statistics Service, and the ratings of innovation companies and innovation regions of Russia.
Results The article reveals the main constraints and problems of development of the system of the Russian innovative entrepreneurship.
Conclusions and Relevance The identified problems of development of innovative entrepreneurship in Russia are a small part of the obstacles, slowing the emergence and growth of innovation companies and enterprises in the sphere of small and medium-sized business. Solving these problems is a prerequisite for increasing the innovative potential of domestic enterprises, which will help the Russian economy to enter the innovative path of development. The results of this study can be used to promote entrepreneurship and innovation at the regional and federal levels.
