Subject. This article discusses the issues of improving the competitiveness of industrial production and the development of the digital economy at the regional level.
Objectives. The article aims to rank the leading industrial areas of Russia in terms of the level of digital transformation of the economy.
Methods. For the study, we used the methods of cluster, econometric, statistical, and logical analyses.
Results. The article notes that the introduction of digital technologies has a positive impact on the development of regional industry, but the effectiveness of their use depends on a number of different factors. The introduction of digital technologies in industry has a wide range of advantages.
Conclusions. The use of digital technologies in industry makes it possible to improve its competitiveness in world markets, but this requires the formation of investment projects, the development of a personnel training system, and the creation of innovative clusters.
