Subject. This article discusses the issues of structural transformation of economic processes, competitiveness growth, and rational use of labor, financial and technological resources.
Objectives. The article aims to conduct a factor analysis of data reflecting the development potential of the Volga (Privolzhsky Federal District regions within the framework of the exogenous model of economic growth.
Methods. For the study, I used the economic and mathematical research methods.
Results. The article presents a developed system of equations to assess the impact of the qualitative characteristics of the science and technology capacities of regions on the economic growth change.
Relevance. The results of the study can be taken into account when developing programmes for the science and technology development of regions in the context of transition to a new technological paradigm.
