Subject. This article discusses the role of road infrastructure in the development of the economy and the issue of ensuring the interconnection of economic subsystems of the region.
Objectives. The article aims to determine the degree of influence of the road infrastructure of the regions of Russia on economic subsystems.
Methods. For the study, we used the virtual clustering method and a regression analysis.
Results. The study outlines the spatial and functional configuration of the Russian regions distribution by intensity of road infrastructure service of economic subsystems. The relevant statistical indicators are correlated with the length of public roads of federal, regional or inter-municipal and local significance. Calculations help predict the increase in the intensity of service for almost all subsystems.
Relevance. The practical application of the study results will contribute to the strengthening of strategic and operational management systems for the development of road infrastructure.

Keywords: virtual clusters, road infrastructure parameters, economic subsystem
