Subject. This article discusses the issues of economic development of the Donetsk People's Republic and its integration into the legal environment of Russia.
Objectives. The article aims to identify the prospects for the development of small business in the Donetsk People's Republic on the basis of improving the tools of public administration used at the federal and regional levels.
Methods. For the study, we used the methods of logical, economic, statistical, and comparative analyses.
Results. The article reads of the prospects for expanding the scope of small business in the Donetsk People's Republic and assesses the trends in its basic regional indicators. It identifies the most significant conditions for the development of small business and proposes certain measures to support this sector of the economy.
Conclusions. The results of the study can be taken into account when designing programmes for the development of economic sectors of the Donetsk People's Republic.
