Subject. This article considers public-law entities as business entities. Objectives. The article aims to analyze the laws and regulations regulating the financial activities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation. Methods. For the study, I used the general scientific research methods. Results. The article systematizes and characterizes the types of financial activities of public-law entities. Conclusions. The specifics of the organization of financial activities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation are due to the budget legislation, the specifics of the delimitation of revenue powers and expenditure obligations between the levels of management. There is a need for legislative regulation of the types of financial activities of public-law entities and monitoring of indicators that characterize the effectiveness of these activities.
